At Unique Residential Care Center volunteers play an important role in helping to improve the quality of life for the 230 residents that call URCC home. Our residents, primarily seniors and those living with disabilities, come from all walks of life and they look forward to engaging and learning with different kind of people. Volunteers find working with URCC residents extremely rewarding and an invaluable experience as they have an opportunity to give back by using their talents and skills. This is a chance to provide administrative support, engage residents in recreational activities, read to residents, assist them with recreational therapy, material management, laundry and clerical work as well as provide spiritual support and resident companionship and so much more. But what volunteers do more than anything else, is bring joy and enrich the lives of our residents. Our volunteers are so vital to us that we show our recognition with certificates of appreciation and an annual ceremony for them each year. With the help of our volunteers, URCC will remain one of the best long-term care providers in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
