In 1988, Dr. Vivens along with two minority partners, decided to form VMT.  Originally, VMT stood for each partner's last name.  However, in 1995, Dr. Vivens became the sole owner of Vital Management Team Long Term Care Management, Inc., commonly referred to by its acronym VMT.

Dr. Vivens, an entrepreneur, educator, much sought after speaker, and a product of Georgetown University School of Nursing; is the epitome of the promise of education as a means of achieving success. She is the author of articles on healthcare, aging, geriatrics, and nursing for both local and national publications. She has lectured at such notable institutions of learning as Georgetown's School of Nursing, Howard University Hospital, College of Allied Health Services, George Mason University and the John Hopkins Nurses Alumni Association.

Dr. Vivens serves on numerous healthcare Boards. Dr. Vivens commitment to excellence, education and quality service has propelled VMT to be a leader in the communities of the District of Columbia for many years.
